She went to familiar territory as she’d previously split her time between London and Dublin before settling down with rugby ace Conor Murray.

While in the English capital she caught up with friends as they treated themselves to coffee dates and brunches.

When she’d returned to Ireland she shared a photo album from it while laughing: “Quick wee London trip before I’m knee deep in nappies xxx.”

Jessica O’Mahony, wife of Irish captain Peter, was among the bowled over replies as she commented: “Gorgeous darling”.

In May of this year they announced they were expecting their first child.

They enjoyed one final couples trip last month to Adare Manor before their lives change forever.

Of course on a more mundane note, their ‘last bit of R&R’ also alluded to Conor being on the cusp of returning for yet another gruelling season with Munster and Ireland.

The 35-year-old is now one of the old heads for club and country having made his provincial debut in 2010.

They weren’t alone either as they caught up with Conor’s club and international teammate Tadhg Beirne.

There was no sign of POM there to complete the Munster old-guard link-up though.

Interestingly, Beirne was this week officially named as O’Mahony’s permanent replacement as club captain.

Following the announcement the 32-year-old spoke to MunsterRugby.com.

He said: “It’s a huge honour to be named as captain of Munster Rugby and to lead a great group of players into the new season.

“I have had a fantastic six years here and it’s an incredibly proud moment for me and my family.

“Very few people have had the opportunity to captain Munster Rugby, and it’s a massive honour to follow in the footsteps of some incredible players and leaders.

“I had the privilege of leading the team a number of times in the past and the job was always made easier by the amount of leaders we have in the squad.

“We have a very tight-knit group and it means a lot to me to lead the squad as captain for the season ahead.”

Munster head coach Graham Rowntree added: “Tadhg is a world-class player who always leads by example. He is the right man to lead Munster into the new season.

“A player of his calibre commands respect and he has grown into a key leader for us since coming here in 2018.

“As a 52-cap Ireland international and British & Irish Lion, he demands the best out of everyone and drives standards within the group.

““He is an extremely calm presence on and off the field.

“It was very impressive to see how he was able to perform at his usual high level while captaining the squad in a number of big games last season.”
