On September 12, Li Yunfei, General Manager of the Branding and Public Relations Department of BYD Group, stated on Weibo that the design of the relevant electric motorcycle was created by BYD Electronic Company Limited for its OEM customers at the end of last year. ‘We reiterate: BYD will focus on its main business now and in the future, and there are no plans to manufacture motorcycles.’
On September 11, the National Intellectual Property Administration’s website showed that BYD’s design patent for an ‘electric motorcycle’ has been authorized, along with multiple images displaying the design of the electric motorcycle. This patent was applied for by BYD Company Limited on December 6, 2023, and was authorized on September 10, 2024.
