New LEGO Sets: September 2024 and Beyond

September has arrived, and that means a new batch of LEGO sets have either already hit the market, or are going live shortly. This month is a huge one for fans of video games, movies, and geek culture in general. We’ve got new sets based on The Legend of Zelda and The Nightmare Before Christmas, plus new Dungeons & Dragons minifigs, and more. The 2024 LEGO advent calendars are also available, for any LEGO-maniacs who celebrate. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive in.

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons Minifigures Are Available

I love it when a new batch of minifigures comes out. The latest set is based on a relatively recent LEGO license property: D&D. We covered the impressive LEGO Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set and had a blast putting it together. This new set of 12 minifigures features characters like Tiefling Sorcerer, Elf Bard, and Halfling Druid, and they come in either individual or a 6-pack of mystery boxes. Let’s hope these minifigures signal we can expect more D&D sets in the future.

LEGO The Legend of Zelda: Great Deku Tree Is Available

LEGO Great Deku Tree Set

LEGO Great Deku Tree Set

Set #77092, includes 2,500 pieces. This 2-in-1 set lets you build the Great Deku Tree in the style of Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild with the same pieces.

Whether you’re a fan of the all-time classic Nintendo 64 game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or the all-time classic Nintendo Switch game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’re covered with this Great Deku Tree set. It comes with all the pieces you need to build either one (or both, one after the other). For a deep dive into the experience, check out our We Build the LEGO Great Deku Tree feature.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Set Is Available for LEGO Insiders (But You Can Sign Up for Free)

LEGO The Nightmare Before Christmas

LEGO The Nightmare Before Christmas

Set #76437, includes 2,405 pieces.

Is it a Halloween movie? Is it a Christmas movie? Why not both. The Nightmare Before Christmas has been chilling hearts and warming them for over 30 years now, so it’s about dang time it got a LEGO set. And it’s a great-looking one, too. We’ll have a “We Build” feature on it soon, but LEGO Insiders can buy it now exclusively at the LEGO Store. It’ll be available for everyone on September 6, but there’s no reason to wait (and potentially find it out of stock), because signing up for a LEGO Insiders account is free.

LEGO Harry Potter: The Burrow – Collectors’ Edition

Set #76437, includes 2,504 pieces.

While Hogwarts is the Harry Potter location that gets the most attention from LEGO (understandably), this is just as cool, if not cooler. The Burrow is the ridiculously awesome Weasley home that looks like it could topple over at any moment. This Collector’s Edition is meant for the 18+ crowd, so it’s meant more for display than play. LEGO Fortnite Sets Are Up for Preorder

Fortnite fanatics can preorder any of four new Fortnite LEGO sets, set to release next month. They’re all pretty cool, but the Durrr Burger is the most modestly priced of the bunch. Your call.

Set #10338, includes 950 pieces.

Previously available exclusively at the LEGO Store, the Transformers Bumblebee set is now up at Amazon. Like the awesome LEGO Optimus Prime set, this one actually transforms from robot to car shape and back, without you having to take the set apart. If you’re interested, be sure to check out our We Build LEGO Bumblebee feature that gets into the nitty gritty of putting this set together and the transforming process.

New LEGO Flower Sets Are Up for Preorder

LEGO Icons Poinsettia

Set #10370, includes 608 pieces.

LEGO’s flower series is super popular because a.) they make great gifts, b.) they function as actual decorations for your home or office, and c.) you don’t need to water them. A new batch of Christmas-themed floral sets is now available for preorder (out October 1). Get one for your mom, or for yourself.

LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi Is Up for Preorder

Set #71438, includes 1,215 pieces.

We’re just one month away from the release of this delightful LEGO re-creation of the Mario-riding-Yoshi sprite from Super Mario World. Turn a crank, and Yoshi’s tongue pops in and out. It’s great. I can’t wait for this set. Speaking of, check out our picks for the best Nintendo LEGO sets.

LEGO Shadow the Hedgehog Is Up for Preorder

Set #31213, contains 1,503 pieces.

And now for something completely different. This LEGO set, based on arguably the most famous painting in history, is available for preorder, with a release date of October 1. It goes along with another LEGO set based on a timeless Paris attraction, the Notre-Dame cathedral (see it at Amazon).

That’s it for new and upcoming sets, but for the creme de la creme, check out our picks for the 10 best LEGO sets period.
