A teenage girl has been hospitalised following a harrowing collision with a marked police vehicle in East London earlier this Monday afternoon.

At approximately 12.55pm on September 16, along Bow Road in Bow, the young girl found herself in harm’s way. Prompt action saw emergency services speed to her aid, with medical professionals attending to the 16 year old before her urgent transfer to the hospital for a detailed examination.

Miraculously, the officers aboard the police car emerged unscathed from the incident, which has led to an ongoing blockade of the road as investigators piece together what occurred.

Speaking about the distressing incident, a Metropolitan Police representative confirmed: “At about 12.55pm on Monday, September 16, a marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with a female pedestrian in Bow Road, Bow.”

“The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called and the female aged 16 was assessed by paramedics at the scene. She was taken to hospital by LAS for further assessment and we await an update on her condition.The officers in the police vehicle were not injured. The road remains closed while an investigation is carried out.

“At the time of the collision, the police vehicle was on the way to an incident. The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.”

Efforts have been made to solicit further details from the London Ambulance Service regarding this incident.
