Kaizen Gaming’s Betano brand has agreed to temporarily donate its Aston Villa front-of-shirt sponsorship spot to Acorns Children’s Hospice, a charity that operates hospices across the United Kingdom.

Acorns’ Logo Adorned Aston Villa’s Shirts

The Acorns logo adorned the jerseys of Aston Villa players just in time for their return to the Champions League and exciting game against Young Boys.

Aston Villa has long supported Acorn’s activities. The two parties’ relationship goes back to 2008 when the charity had a permanent presence on the soccer club players’ shirts.

While Acorn is no longer a permanent fixture on Aston Villa’s shirts, Betano has kindly agreed to donate its spot for the recent game.

Kaizen Gaming Remains Committed to Giving Back to the Sports Community

Chris Heck, president of business operations at Aston Villa, commented on the deal, thanking Betano for giving the team the opportunity to invite Acorns back. He added that bringing Acorns back onto the front of shirt was a “no-brainer” and noted that the organization’s activity is close to the hearts of the club and its followers.

Julio Iglesias, chief commercial officer of Kaizen Gaming, was likewise excited about the move, highlighting his company’s desire to give back to the community.

As part of that, to walk the walk, we have a first step to help Aston Villa; donating the space on the shirt for the first Champions League game to an organization close to Aston Villa’s hearts.

Last but not least, Vicki Rowles, Acorns Children’s Hospice’s director of fundraising, said that the Acorns team is “extremely honored” to have its logo featured on the club’s shirts for their UEFA Champions League debut against Young Boys.

Rowles added that this move would promote Acorns’ cause across the UK, allowing it to reach even more families in need.

Aston Villa Has Returned with a Bang

As for the game itself, Aston Villa steamrolled Young Boys with a 3-0 win, marking a bombastic return to the Champions League. This was notably the former club’s first game in the tournament in 41 years.

Youri Tielemans, wearing the number eight shirt, scored the first goal, echoing the memory of the late Gary Shaw who served as the club’s striker decades ago. The second goal was scored by Jacob Ramsey just before the interval. Amadou Onana wrapped up the Aston Villa scoring another goal close to the game’s end.

Aston Villa, for context, returned to the Champions League after finishing fourth in the latest edition of the Premier League. This followed decades spent in the second tier of English soccer.

Prince William, who is an avid fan of the club, was very excited and said that he is looking forward to further victories.
